How to use vocal
presets in Logic Pro.
Mixpreset chains are Logic Pro channel strip settings. From download to a finished vocal is four steps — here's the whole thing.
The full walkthrough in Logic Pro — about 25 seconds.
- 1
Drop the preset into Logic's folder
On your Mac, open Spotlight (⌘ + Space) — or use Finder — and go to the Channel Strip Settings folder, then drop your downloaded preset (.cst file) into its Tracks folder.
- 2
Load it in Logic Pro
Restart Logic Pro so it picks up the new file. On the audio track you want, click Settings at the top of the channel strip, then under User Channel Strip Settings choose your imported preset.
- 3
Shape it to your voice
Adjust the EQ, compression, and reverb to fit your style. Every voice is different — nudge the chain until it sits right on yours.
- 4
Go further
Experiment with additional Logic Pro effects like Space Designer for unique reverb textures. The preset is a starting point — make it yours.
Heads up: these chains are built for Logic Pro and, unless a preset lists third-party plugins, use Logic's stock plugins only — so there's nothing extra to install. Each preset page lists its supported DAW and plugins.
